NYC Applelicious Glossy Lip Balm (Review, Swatches)

NYC Applelicious

Adorable apple-loving lip products.

Where to Buy:  Walmart
Price:  around $3
Quantity:  3.5 grams

I love a good themed product.  These lippies feature two-tone colour: a lighter core (apple-shaped) and a deeper outside.  The payoff is sheer, shimmery colour.  Can we talk for a second about the apple shape on the inside?  It’s freaking precious.  Here are the colours I have:

Blushing Golden (350):  golden shimmer
Apple Blossom (354):
medium pink
Applelicious Pink (355):
Apple Blueberry Pie (357):
Garnet Gala (358):
redcopper shimmer

These are cheesily packaged – shimmery pink tubes.  NYC seems to be targeting a significantly younger market so I can’t fault them for the less-than-classy exterior.

These feel nice on the lips but they are definitely not lip balms.  If you are expecting major hydration from these, you won’t get it.  They go on smoothly and they smell like apples – something I rather like, despite not usually favouring scented products.  I’ve found that the darker colours stain the lips a little.

Blushing Golden would be perfect overtop a matte lip colour.

Well, I acquired Blushing Golden and Apple Blossom over the weekend! I’m a sucker for apple scented stuff, plus it’s cute, plus it looks really nice on! Thanks, I never would have found these without you! 🙂
